Nuestro proyecto en el NILE Institute, Norwich

Nuestro proyecto en la web del NILE Institute

Teachers from the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas Quart de Poblet have just left Norwich after an intensive tailor-made, week-long testing and assessment course with Erasmus+ funding. The course, designed in collaboration with the language teachers, focused on benchmarking and standard-setting using the CEFR, designing and applying marking criteria, standardising the assessment of Speaking and Writing, and uses of technology in language testing and assessment. Led by NILE Directors Dave Allan, and Thom Kiddle, the course participants combined an in-depth look at the theory and principles of effective, valid and reliable assessment with hands-on practice using examples from different European contexts.
The course participants, teachers of English as Foreign Language and Italian as a Foreign Language, commented:
"Evaluating, testing and assessing in a coherent, standardised way is what we came here to learn, and that's what we've got!"
"I'll be applying everything I've learnt as soon as I get back to work next week."
"I've learnt so much!"
Despite the limited time spent with us in Norwich, the group managed to fit in trips to Cromer and London, an evening in a local pub with the trainers, and a traditional cream tea! We look forward to welcoming the group back in the summer of 2015 for work placements in institutions and testing companies to complete their Erasmus+ project.
